Springville is located in Tulare County - in the central San Joaquin Valley about 17 miles east of Porterville on Highway 190 (Porterville basically being between Fresno and Bakersfield). The unincorporated community of Springville lies nestled in the Sierra foothills, at the southwestern gateway into the Sequoia National Forest.
Our elevation is roughly 1,000 ft. In the spring, the aroma of fragrant orange blossoms wafts in the breeze from the many groves in the area. Nearby Lake Success invites bass fishermen and water skiers alike. The Jackass Mail Run precedes the yearly Springville Rodeo. Summer brings the hikers and campers into our local mountains. Horseback riders share the roads with the automobiles. The fall heralds in our annual Apple Festival along with the beautiful autumn foliage. In the winter, the snow capped mountains can be seen in the distance, beckoning the snowboarders! The Tule River meanders through the mountains during the summer and rushes downhill after a winter rain. Springville enjoys one of the lowest overall cost of living environments in California. Great schools, clean air, spectacular vistas, and lovely homes on large parcels with room to spread out are the reasons why so many people have discovered this area. We are away from the hectic city treadmill, yet close enough for weekend visits.
